Launched in 2006-07, the scheme “INDIRAMMA Disabled Pension (Urban)” by the Department of Rural Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh, aims to provide financial assistance to persons with disabilities of 40% or above who are 18 years of age or above. To be eligible, they should be from a BPL family, be a resident of a district of Andhra Pradesh, and not be covered under any other Pension Scheme. The eligible individuals will be identified by their respective Ward Sabhas. The Bill Collector disburses the pension to the eligible individuals on the first date of every month.
Benefits
Pension Amount:聽The scale of benefit under the pension will be notified by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Mode of Disbursement:聽The Bill Collector disburses the pension to the eligible individuals in the presence of Ward members and office bearers of DWCUA.
Time of Disbursement:聽The pension is disbursed on the first date of every month.
Eligibility
The applicant should be a local resident of a district of Andhra Pradesh.
The applicant should be from an urban area.
The applicant should be from a Below Poverty Line (BPL) family.
The applicant should have a minimum of 40% disability.
The applicant should be 18 years of age or above.
The applicant should not be covered under any other Pension Scheme.
*The eligible citizens will be identified by their respective Ward Sabhas. The register containing the list of eligible citizens will be shared by the Bill Collector with the Municipal Commissioner.

Step 1:聽Identification of Eligible Persons
The Ward Sabha identifies eligible persons based on the eligibility criteria. A ward-wise register of eligible persons is maintained by the Bill Collector.
Step 2:聽Recommendation and Sanction
The Bill Collector sends Ward Sabha resolution recommending eligible persons to the Municipal Commissioner. The Municipal Commissioner scrutinizes eligibility and sanctions pensions based on municipality-wise allocation.
Step 3:聽Disbursement of Pensions
The Project Director (DRDA) sends pension acquittance list and funds to Municipal Commissioners. The Municipal Commissioner issues cheques to Bill Collectors. The Bill Collector disburses pensions to pensioners in the presence of Ward members and DWCUA office bearers.
